agriculturalist/agriculturist:

(plural: ‘agriculturalists‘; pronunciation: the letter ‘g’ is said with a ‘g’ sound as in “gun”, and the letter ‘c’ is said with a ‘k’ sound as in “king”)

an agriculturalist

a person who studies the science of farming — growing crops and livestock, etc., and after completion of the course, works as an expert in the government department of agriculture or as a freelance adviser to farmers;

a person who knows or has the art of farming — cultivating soil, growing crops or rearing animals;

an experienced farmer,

an official agriculturalist studying the condition of a crop

e.g.

Hussein is the third generation agriculturalist, cultivating the same land his grandfather and father had once cultivated.

Many countries around the world encourage agriculturalists to grow more crops or rear more dairy animals by giving them loans and subsidies.

Uneducated farmers these days get useful tips on how to grow crops better from the official agriculturalists appointed by the local governments.

Return to “cultivator“.     Return to “farmer“.
