a drug addict injecting some drug

a person who gets into a harmful habit and is unable to get rid of or give up that habit (unable to free him/herself from that habit) — habits such as smoking tobacco, drinking too much alcohol, using harmful drugs for pleasure or even watching TV all the time.

It’s surprising and funny to learn that there are some puzzle addicts that play Sudoku, a number puzzle game, all the time!

There are many health centres that are meant for helping drug addicts.

Some experts argue that sex addicts are more dangerous and more numerous than any other kinds of addicts.

Note: A devoted follower of somebody or something, or a fan who shows too much liking to some sports or film personality or something else can also be called an addict.
